CPP-Optimized Design

Reduction gearbox without clutch — engineered for controllable-pitch propellers where reverse thrust is handled by propeller pitch, not the gearbox.

High Torque Density

Up to 13,164 kW continuous duty at 1,200 rpm in the VA 4855 — helical gears, case-hardened and tooth-flank ground, fabricated steel housing.

Two Standard Ratios per Model

Each VA model is published with two factory-standard reduction ratios — matching propeller selection to engine characteristics without custom tooling.

Continuous-Duty Reliability

Pressure-fed lubrication, integrated propeller thrust bearing, and seawater-resistant heat exchanger built for unlimited-hours commercial operation.
