We’re proud to announce that Alden Settoon, Regional Sales Manager at Karl Senner, has been officially nominated for the Inland Marine Expo’s 40 Under 40 Award, recognizing young leaders making a significant impact in the maritime industry.

Alden’s career with Karl Senner has been defined by innovation, leadership, and a deep commitment to serving our customers and the maritime community. His journey began in a newly created role as a Customer Service Representative —a position he helped define and evolve into a critical part of our operations. Through his efforts, the service department shifted from reactive breakdown maintenance to a proactive planned maintenance model, improving both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

As his role grew, Alden took on the responsibility of commissioning coordinator for new equipment sales, overseeing technical communication, planning, and execution for REINTJES reduction gears in newly commissioned vessels. His ability to streamline processes and bring deep product knowledge to every project quickly made him an indispensable resource to both customers and internal teams.

In 2019, Alden transitioned to the sales department as Regional Sales Manager for the Inland Waterways, covering a broad region from South Louisiana to Panama City, FL, and up the Mississippi River to St. Louis. In this role, he has consistently gone beyond the gearbox—offering customers comprehensive powertrain solutions, built on a foundation of trust, precision, and performance. His technical expertise, reliability, and strong relationships across the industry have made him a respected voice and a go-to partner.

Alden’s impact extends well beyond his job description. He is active in the industry through organizations like AWO, OMSA, SCI, and WIMOs, and is always ready to volunteer at fundraisers or events—often bringing his cooking skills along with him.

The 40 Under 40 nomination is a well-earned recognition of Alden’s contributions to our company and the maritime community.
